Turkey offers Russia to switch to settlements in local currencies
ANKARA, Dec 5 (PRIME) -- Turkey has offered Russia to switch to trade settlements in national currencies, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on December 3.
“I have offered (Russian President Vladimir) Putin the following: let’s switch our trade to local currencies. I will pay in rubles for everything that I buy from you and you will pay in Turkish liras for everything that you buy from me,” Erdogan said.
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim will discuss this issue during his visit to Russia on Tuesday, Erdogan also said.
